Photograph of a view of the Plymouth Cordage Company smokestack in Plymouth, Massachusetts was taken in May 2022. The smokestack made out of 500,000 bricks was built around 1899 to serve the new power plant of the mill. The stack is due for demolition soon.
A life-long resident of Plymouth, Massachusetts, I have been pursuing my passion for landscape photography ever since retiring. Much of my work is captured primarily in and around my historic hometown and nearby areas on the South Shore of Massachusetts. My photography represents how I view the world. I am drawn to beauty in simplicity. It is where I find the most peace. It is my hope that my photos will evoke same emotions within the viewers. Thank you for taking the time to look and comment. I hope you like my pictures as much as I enjoy photography. PLEASE NOTE: The FineArtAmerica watermark does NOT appear on sold images. NANCY DE FLON
On my sole visit to Plymouth I was walking along a path because I saw a stack like this in the distance. Finally caught up to it, but am not sure it was this one. This is a great composition, Janice, and I'm glad you've contributed to preserving the industrial history of the Plymouth region.
Janice Drew replied:
Thank you, Nancy. This is the stack you saw on your visit. It's been standing since 1899.
