Fantastic capture, Janice!!! I can't imagine where you were when you took this shot ... but it's a really awesome pov / perspective ... so cool!!!! Reading that it came down? That's a shame isn't it ... well, the old must make way I suppose. Still, this is quite unique!!!!! l/f t and p

Janice Drew replied:

Thank you, Lois. There is another pier (town pier) that was across from this one. They replaced with with a slab of cement now and didn't save the boating shack. Very disappointing, but I'm glad I have the memory in photographs.

Striking capture with the intricate complexities of the Plymouth Wharf. Sad to hear that this wharf no longer exists - A Nostalgic capture of Plymouth's not so distant past.

Janice Drew replied:

Thank you, Janine. It is one of my favorites.

What a shame this is gone now Janice! So glad you captured this for those that long for the day of seeing it!

Janice Drew replied:

Thank you, Andee. The wharf was in disrepair, but I wish they had kept the shack.

Wonderful shot! You've really captured the character of this place. Too bad they had to tear it down.

Janice Drew replied:

Thank you, Linda. It was in disrepair, but the replacement doesn't have any character at all.

Artist's Description

This is a section of the T-Wharf (Town Pier) in the harbor of Plymouth, Massachusetts. It was six degrees with a biting wind that made it feel well below zero on this frigid 20th day of February in 2015.

Update: The old T-Wharf was torn down in 2016. A new pier has been constructed and opened on Memorial Day weekend 2017.

About Janice Drew

Janice Drew

A life-long resident of Plymouth, Massachusetts, I have been pursuing my passion for landscape photography ever since retiring. Much of my work is captured primarily in and around my historic hometown and nearby areas on the South Shore of Massachusetts. My photography represents how I view the world. I am drawn to beauty in simplicity. It is where I find the most peace. It is my hope that my photos will evoke same emotions within the viewers. Thank you for taking the time to look and comment. I hope you like my pictures as much as I enjoy photography. PLEASE NOTE: The FineArtAmerica watermark does NOT appear on sold images.
