Description
The blanket flower (Gaillardia) was named after an M. Gaillard de Charentonneau, an 18th-century French magistrate who was a patron of botany. Its common name, blanket flower, may refer to the resemblance to the brightly patterned blankets made by Native Americans, or to the ability of wild taxa to blanket the ground with colonies.

Janice, the bright bloom has a gorgeous backdrop of the most beautiful green hues ; fresh & refreshing! ... a lovely composition; I like the petal tilt .. {it may be singing, & that is a floral musical note! it beckons us .. } :))
