Description
The weekend before Thanksgiving is a celebration of festivities connecting a link to our heritage and nation's history in America's Hometown of Plymouth, Massachusetts. The First Thanksgiving was celebrated by the Pilgrims after their first harvest in the New World in 1621. As noted by Pilgrim Edward Winslow, the three-day feast was attended by 90 Native Americans and 53 Pilgrims. This photograph of the statue of Governor William Bradford below our American flag flying high above Water Street was taken on November 20, 2015, the first day of this year's Thanksgiving celebration. The statue is the work of sculptor, Cyrus Edwin Dallin. (1861-1944).
